Currently in my final year (E5) at ESIEE Paris, studying computer science, and on an apprenticeship at IDM Group, where I build the online dictionary platforms of Oxford, Cambridge and others in Java, Spring Boot and React.
About
My name is Léo Dessertenne. Passionate about computing, I joined the BUT in Computer Science at Université Gustave Eiffel in 2022, then continued into the engineering programme at ESIEE Paris as a joint degree, where I am now in my final year (E5).
Alongside my studies, I have been on an apprenticeship at IDM Group, a company specialising in website creation, since 2023. As a member of the development team, I contribute to the fullstack development of the online dictionary platforms of Oxford, Cambridge and Collins, taking on increasingly technical work over time.

My Career
2023 - Present
Apprenticeship at IDM Group
As an apprentice at IDM Group, I joined the team behind the websites of the major dictionary publishers: Oxford, Cambridge, Collins and bab.la. I work on both the interface and the server side, between new features, modernising existing sites and day-to-day reliability.
2024 - 2027
ESIEE Paris — Engineering degree
Alongside my BUT in Computer Science, I am pursuing an engineering degree at ESIEE Paris. Now in my final year (E5), I am consolidating my fullstack development skills while preparing to enter the profession as an engineer.
2022 - 2024
BUT in Computer Science
During my BUT in Computer Science at Université Gustave Eiffel, I built solid programming skills with a strong emphasis on project work. I earned the degree jointly with ESIEE Paris. You are welcome to explore a few of those projects here.
2020 - 2022
STI2D Technological Baccalaureate
I hold a baccalaureate in Science and Technology of Industry and Sustainable Development (STI2D), specialising in Technological Innovation and Eco-design (ITEC). Although that specialism leaned towards mechanical engineering, I devoted a good share of my spare time to deepening my knowledge of computing, notably by learning several programming languages such as Python, CSS and HTML.

My goals
I am finishing my engineering degree at ESIEE Paris (final year, E5), alongside my apprenticeship at IDM Group where my work is taking on more responsibility. An international placement is planned as part of my course. Once I graduate, I am aiming for a fullstack developer role on larger-scale projects, in France or abroad.
